Job Title : Technical Support Engineer
Job Location: South Boston
Our Client's upport supports global customers and partners, interfacing with them via phone, email, and web. Team members resolve customer technical issues through diligent research, reproduction, and troubleshooting utilizing system administration, networking, and storage skills. The ZES team works closely with our Engineering, Sales, and Product Management teams to ensure that Zerto is delivering overall superior service and support to our customers. Zerto Engineering Support team members are the best of the best supporting business-critical applications and services in a virtual BC/DR infrastructure.
Respond to customer inquiries, primarily by telephone and e-mail, and support portals
Resolve customer technical issues through diligent research, reproduction, and troubleshooting demonstrating in depth knowledge and high technical skills
Work directly with other technical support staff, quality assurance, engineering, sales, marketing, product management, operations, and administration to resolve problems
Installing the product in customers environments, both on-site and remotely
Maintaining personal relationship with IT managers and other contact persons in key accounts
Participate in product release process to ensure the product quality and supportability.
Experience with VMware products and the vSphere family
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent in spoken and written English
High level of Service awareness
Experience in providing Linux/UNIX and Windows technical support to customers
Strong Linux or UNIX administration skills & familiarity with the installation and configuration of Linux or UNIX operating systems & setup and operation of TCP/IP networking on Linux or UNIX systems
Good practical working ability with UNIX utilities, including editors and command shells
Experience in working with development organizations in a new product introductions role
Knowledge or familiarity of real-life IT environments
Experience in administration of SAN environments
Technical Certifications (VCP, MCSE, CCNA, etc.)
UNIX kernel diagnostics/debugging
Experience with operation and administration of Windows Server 2008 and/or Windows Server 2003 systems
Decent practical working with and administration of Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or DB2 databases.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience supporting software and hardware
B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or equivalent work experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft (Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003), plus x86 platforms, devices, and networking
May require work in shifts in the future
May require travel in and outside the USA.
